First Light is an offline Bible app. It does not require an account, and it does not collect personal information to run.
Your highlights, bookmarks, notes, reading progress, quiz results, reminders and settings are stored only on your device. You can export them as a backup file from Settings and delete them by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
When you use AI Bible Chat or "Explain this verse", the question you type (and, for verse explanations, the verse text) is sent to Google's Gemini API so it can generate an answer. We do not attach your name, email or device identifiers to these requests. Google's handling of API requests is described in Google's own privacy terms. Chat history is kept only on your phone and can be cleared in Settings.
First Light Pro subscriptions are sold through Google Play. Payments are processed by Google; we never see your card details. Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app-user id and purchase receipts from Google Play in order to confirm your entitlement. RevenueCat's privacy policy applies to that processing.
Daily prayer reminders and feast-day reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data leaves your phone.
The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
